Plastic welding rods for the thermoplastic materials of the BMW Z1
For welding/fusing cracks and for repairs to the thermoplastic parts of the BMW Z1 and many other plastic parts from the automotive sector.
The thermoplastic parts can be welded quite well at temperatures between 220 and 270°C. A soldering iron with a wide tip, for example, can be very useful for this, but a hot air gun with a suitable nozzle can also be used, although I would advise against using a hot air gun, as working with hot air requires a lot of experience.
It is easier and safer to work with a soldering iron. I have done some tests with an adjustable 80W soldering iron and am very satisfied with the results.
The rods from this set are each approx. 45 cm long, triangular and have a width of approx. 3 mm and a height of approx. 2 mm. When fusing/welding cracks, very little material is usually required, so you can go a long way with just one rod.
2 rods are supplied for each item ordered.
