Project - BMW typical (light-) warning module (gong)
Caution module with the typical BMW sound (update 2014-03-01)
This project was developed from a former version of a module, that makes the BMW typical "double-gong" sound when you have forgotten to switch off the lights
The actual version has following features:
1. Lights-on-reminder:
Puts out the typical BMW sound in case you switch off the ignition while the lights are switched on.
You can choose if the sound should come as a single-, double- or triple-sound. You can choose if this sound should send out once or if it should be repeated (up to 255 times) and you can choose a pause time between two sounds (up to 67 seconds).
2. Cooling water level alarm:
When you change the expansion tank to a version from E30 (with floating switch) the modul can send out an alarm when the level of the cooling water goes down. In that case there will given out an alarm sound and a lamp in the control panel will flicker as long as the floating switch is in alarm condition. If it will come back to normal position, the acoustic alarm will be switched off, but the lamp will light continuous then, because the water is low and should be checked a.s.a.p.
In case you have an permanent alarm and you have to drive a few miles to the next filling station, you can switch off the acoustic alarm temporary for this ride.
3. Handbrake alarm sound:
When you drive with handbrake on, there will be given out an alarm when you are faster than e.g. 10 km/h. This speed is programmable while producing the kit.
The small PCB is connected directly to the sound module that is used in many BMW models and fitts very well.
