The outer fastening points of the front bumper trim are made of the same thermoplastic as the trim itself. The original brackets were attached to the shell of the bumper trim using a large-area adhesive connection. As a result, occurring forces are concentrated in a very limited, small area around the screw connection using the self-tapping screw and self-tapping nut with the subframe of the chassis, which means that these brackets break even with a light parking bump, as they, like all thermoplastic parts of the vehicle, over the course of 30 years have become brittle.
This repair judgment is designed so that it is placed over the remnants of the original holder and attached to the remnants of the old holder with the enclosed plastic screws. In addition, you can glue the overlapping areas, but this is not absolutely necessary.
The parts are made from white nylon using the SLS 3D printing process. The repair kits are supplied complete with PT screws for attachment to the "remnants" of the original holder that are still present.
